Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now OnestiThe name refers to the Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Gheorghi Romania). She was first to achieve a perfect 10 at an Olympic ceremony. Bela Karolyi, who later became a Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci as she was only seven years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships 1969 and finished 13th. She did well in the 1970 competition. She won three golds in her debut competition at a pre-Olympic junior meet in 1972 that was held by communist-friendly countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior all-around champion. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. The five-time European Champion, in her debut senior international event in the year 1975. In this event she took home four golds as well as a silver. The American Cup was hers to win. American Cup in New York City in 1976. She was the first woman to attempt the backward double salto in a dismount from the unbalanced parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years. During this time, she performed as two figure skaters with their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment business during her teens. She made her debut as a the figure skater who performed with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating performance that was accompanied by musical theatre.
